Tradition and Tasting Tour


Day 1: Amman Airport - Amman Hotel
Our representative welcomes you with a signage at Amman Airport after you passed through the customs. Transfer about 30 minutes to your Amman Hotel, check in, remainder of the day free.

Day 2: Amman Hotel – Local Breakfast - Amman City Tour - Salt – Amman Hotel (B)
In the morning, enjoy a taste of a local breakfast by going to a popular breakfast restaurant. Then start your city tour in Jordan's capital Amman, already mentioned in the Bible as Rabbath Ammon, is a bustling modern city. The historical places are located in downtown, where we visit the Citadel with remains from the Roman to the early Islamic period. Then we have a round in the Archaeological Museum. We stroll via the Souq to go to Spice shops, perfume stalls, and other shops of where you get an idea of everyday life, then to the Roman Theatre from 2nd century with 6000 seats. Visit also, Jabal Amman with its distinctive early 20th century architecture. There will go see the Soap House, located in a renovated period home it serves as a training center for village women from the Ajloun district, located in the north, who make fine soaps from local olive oil. Then to the town Salt, you walk along Hammam Street to see the highlights of the 19th century architecture of this period, houses with long-arched windows in picturesque narrow streets. Well known is the Abu Jaber mansion, built between 1892 and 1906, reputed to be the finest example of a 19th century merchant house in the regionOvernight Amman hotel.

Day 3: Amman Hotel – Umm Quais – Lunch - Jerash - Amman Hotel (B, L)
Morning time we drive two hours from Amman to Gadara (Umm Qais), which belonged to the famous Decapolis, a union of 10 cities, founded by Alexander the Great. Here you have an overwhelming view over the north Jordan Valley, the Golan Heights and the Sea of Galilee. Upon arrival to Jerash, the best example of a Roman provincial city in the whole Middle East enjoy lunchtime in a restaurant to experience local food and to see how Arabic bread is prepared in traditional way. Then Visit the spectacular forum, Roman colonnaded street, the Nymphaeum and the Temple of Artemis. Back to Amman for overnight.

Day 4: Amman Hotel - Madaba – Lunch - Mt Nebo – Dead Sea Hotel (B, L)
Breakfast, drive to the town Madaba, where you find the famous mosaic 6th century map of Palestine in St. George’s church. Stop to have lunch in Haret Jdoudna Restaurant, 20th century house transformed into a village restaurant and Crafts Market. After that, continue to Mt. Nebo, the place where Prophet Moses gazed at the promised land before he died and alleged to be his burial place. You visit an old monastery, overlook the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea and parts of the Holy Land. Afterward, we drive to the lowest point on earth, the Dead Sea, where you have leisure time at the beach and the chance to float on water (showers and lockers are available). Overnight Dead Sea Hotel.

Day 5: Dead Sea Leisure (B)
Breakfast and overnight at hotel – no other services provided. With 400 meters below sea level, the Dead Sea is the lowest point on earth, where ever since the days of Herod the Great, people have flocked to in search of its curative secrets. The area is characterized by high annual temperatures, low humidity and high atmospheric pressure, the air is extremely oxygen rich. With the highest content of minerals and salts in the world, the Dead Sea water possesses anti-inflammatory properties, and the dark mud found on its shores have been used for over 2000 years for therapeutic purposes.

Day 6: – Dead Sea Hotel – Petra Visit – Petra Kitchen - Petra Hotel (B, D)
After breakfast, drive to the red rose city Petra, the biggest attraction of Jordan. The Nabataean Arabs, a nomadic tribe who settled in the area and laid the foundation of a commercial empire that extended into Syria, first established Petra around the 6th century B.C. With the guide, pass the canyon, the so-called Siq, to see the most beautiful monument: the Treasury. Continue via the Street of Facades to the Royal Tombs and Pharaoh's Castle. After that, free time to explore Petra on your own. At 19:00, start cookery course with other tourists at Petra Kitchen. You will be divided in several groups and prepare Jordanian dishes (mezze, salads, main course), working alongside local women and an experienced chef. You will have dinner together and take the recipes of the evening with you. Overnight Petra.

Day 7: Petra Hotel – Wadi Rum Jeep – Dinner in Aqaba - Aqaba Hotel (B, D)
In the morning, we drive 1.5 hours southwards to the protected area of Wadi Rum, one of the most impressing desert landscapes in the world. There still Bedouins live in a traditional way, and by 4x4 Jeep tour you discover canyons, sand dunes and Nabatean rock inscriptions. Then drive to Aqaba to enjoy the Red Sea resort. Have dinner in one of the restaurants nearby for an option to taste fresh fish and seafood. Overnight in Aqaba.

Day 8:  Aqaba Morning Leisure – Dinner in Amman - Amman Hotel  (B, D)
Breakfast and overnight at hotel – no other services provided. Free day to enjoy the Red Sea resort of Aqaba. Just relax, explore the duty free shopping facilities or have fun with popular water activities like swimming, snorkeling or diving (not included). Four hours transfer to Amman. Have dinner in one of the best restaurants in Amman. Overnight Amman Hotel.

Day 9: Amman Hotel – Amman Airport (B)
Breakfast, latest check out 12:00, according to departure time transfer to Amman Airport to say farewell.
