Tasting a Middle Eastern Dish
Travelling is a fun, relaxing, exciting way to see a new place and discovering delicious local food.
While on your Jordan Tour (or Middle East Travel) why don’t
you try
to have an experience of tasting an amazing dish like Kabsa.
What is Kabsa?
Kabsa is a
traditional & very popular Middle Eastern dish. It is usually a mixture of
spices, rice, meat - chicken, lamb, or beef, but occasionally other meats are
used, and vegetables. The cuisine is believed to originate in Yemen, in places
like Qatar, UAE, Kuwait the dish is known as machboos served in a similar way.
How to Make Kabsa?
This delicious dish
is made with Basmati rice (long grained), flavored with spices, vegetables and
meat. Almonds, pine nuts, white oval seedless grape and onions may include as garnishing. The
meat for Kabsa can be cooked in different ways. Mandi is a popular way of
preparing the meat, an ancient technique where the meat is barbecued in a deep
hole in the ground covered while the meat cooks. Another way of preparing is Mathbi, here the seasoned meat is
grilled on flat stones placed on top of burning coals.
