Azraq Lodge

Azraq Lodge

If you like to explore the eastern desert you can opt to stay overnight at the Azraq Lodge. The complex had been used as a British military field hospital in the 1940’s, nowadays a building offers 16 rooms with private bathroom, air conditioning and terraces. The staff of the lodge is from the local Bedouin, Chechen, and Druze communities and the kitchen offers home-cooked Chechen food.

From here it is just a short distance to Azraq Wetland Reserve, popular for bird watching, the Shaumari Wildlife Reserve (still closed for renovations) and Azraq Castle.
